10-ish plus years as a Nashvillian and I had not yet visited the Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge. This is craziness isn’t it? If you aren’t familiar with the Natchez Trace it is an incredibly beautiful and scenic parkway that you can hop on in Nashville, Tennessee and drive through to Mississippi. It travels through all sorts of historic sites and spots and it is definitely on my ‘bucket list’ to road trip it at some point. Maybe I’ll travel it and shoot along the way and blog it sometime in the near future!!
Anyway, future photography adventures and journeys aside, I did get a chance to visit the parkway bridge recently (which is a very good start to my parkway travel goals). I visited the bridge on an afternoon that I set out to to location scout for future shoots. I took along (as I often do) my very photogenic sister Andrea to test some location and light. We ended up driving out to the Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge that is located just southwest of Nashville. The bridge was beautiful from the lower ground (it is beautiful arches in the middle of rolling Tennessee hills). We found the exit to get onto the bridge and the views were breathtakingly stunning from on top of the bridge. You can truly see for miles and the minimal traffic made for an amazing location. From a lighting and test shoot this quickly turned into a full fledged photoshoot. I loved the light and the views from the bridge. We hung out and shot until the sun set over the hills below (which by the way if you live in or ever visit Nashville I highly recommend the trek to see these views – especially at dusk). Please enjoy some of my favorites from this shoot.
